Differences

Tonight Martin and I and the gang went to Best Buy to purchase a new camera - yippee!! I am excited to try it out and see the clearly defined images, instead of the fuzzy edged ones of our last camera. 16 megapixels! Check back tomorrow night for new pictures...

But, on to differences...
The boys were fascinated by the many TV's in the store, and plopped down in front of one that was showing a Motocross competition. Martin observed the following conversation:

Elliot, eyes big and bright, looks at Vincent and exclaims: I wanna do that when I get older!!! That looks so fun!!

Vincent looks back at Elliot and says: That looks scary!

This pretty much portrays the differences between our two boys: Elliot takes life by the horns and invites any and all challenges, and Vincent is content to observe and figure out what's happening and then proceed cautiously or not at all.

I think Annaliese will fall somewhere in between the two of them!

High Knob

On an amazingly BEAUTIFUL cool Friday evening in July, we headed up to High Knob for supper and a hike to the Fire Tower. The boys energetically hiked up the rocky path, Elliot leading the way, and Vincent bringing up the rear. The air was clear and the view was incredible...we wished we had brought our tent with us to camp for the night (until we thought about what to do if some bears paid a visit!).
The boys ran basically the whole way down, with only a couple scrapes and scars as proof, and Annaliese conked out about 3/4 of the way to the bottom.
We're glad our kids love the outdoors and taking hikes...we look forward to more of these adventures on a greater scale in a couple of years.
