For our 10 year Anniversary, Sylvia and I celebrated with 4 days in the mountains near Floyd, VA. We rented this isolated cabin that overlooks the New River Valley and is surrounded by nothing but fields, trees, hiking trails and a turtle or two. We got up in the mornings whenever we jolly well pleased, and spent hours in the hot tub, hiking the mountain trails, watching movies, and sitting on the deck in the morning sun drinking coffee and reading. In the evenings for supper we would drive to Floyd, Christiansburg or Blacksburg to visit some of our favorite eateries from our past life. It was wonderful having undivided time for each other after 2 demanding years.

Our traditional celebratory meal: shrimp and artichokes (this time scallops and a fresh garden salad were added).
