14 Years!

14 years together as a married couple!  Amazing!  This year we celebrated right here at home, but the kids packed their bags and went to spend the weekend with their Rhodes grandparents.  Friday evening, after the kids were away, we ate supper at Capital Ale House, then came home and played a couple games of Ticket To Ride, watched a movie and stayed up late - because without kids, we could sleep in AS LONG AS WE WANTED!  BLISS, OH, BLISS!!!!  So the next morning we slept in until around 9:30 or 10.  It was a beautiful weekend weather-wise, so we both got the hankering for a motorcycle expedition.  Thankfully, Philip and Betsy have connections to kind folks with motorcycles who lend them out to other motorcyclists!  We packed a lunch and headed off to explore unknown back-roads for nearly 6 hours.  It was heavenly.  We got home around 8 in the evening, had a delicious BBQ salmon and fresh salad meal, watched a couple more movies, and went to bed late again - ahhhh.  The next morning we slept in until about 10:30 - ahhhhh!, had a leisurely morning of listening to Rich Mullins, playing Settlers, talking about parenting goals and our life direction in general, and simply being together without other demands around us!  We picked  up the kids around supper-time, and Leanna fixed a delicious supper of personal pizzas.  Then we took the kids to Wildwood Park to celebrate Father's Day, came home and the kids gave  Martin their paintings for Father's Day.
Thank you so much James and Leanna for the gift of caring for our children while we celebrated each other!
Cheers to many more years together with you Martin...you make being married exciting, fun, new, and I am truly honored to be your wife!

I love this man more every year!
