Field Trip and Photo-Op

Today Elliot and I took a field trip to the NC Museum of Life and Science which is located a few blocks from our house. The Museum houses a combination of science exhibits (how a tornado is formed, replete with moving tornado), and animal life. Elliot loved the tornado machine and also the alligators, goats, lemurs, and especially the wolves. He didn't care a whit for the black bears however, and nearly strained a neck muscle trying to follow the butterflies in the butterfly hothouse. However, I think Elliot's favorite exhibit was all of the other toddlers and pre-schoolers running around the museum. My favorite was the pond with the remote controlled sailboats.

Elliot also partook in a post-nap photo-op:

Elliot Updates:
Favorite food: by all appearances and the emphatic grunts the winner would have to be hush puppies. Come over any time Carmen (although we might need 30 this time)! He also likes broccoli (Witmer gene).
Games: high chair racing through the apartment, airplane flying, peek-a-boo around doorways, playing with the washing machine hoses, playing in the fall leaves with Mom.
Leisure activities: going out by the road at 3:30 for a bottle and then watching for the schoolbuses to come by on their way to the elementary school around the corner. There are 2-3 regular honkers much to Elliot's delight. Going to the library on Mondays.
Music: Peter Bjorn and John: esp. "Young Folks" and "Amsterdam"
Teeth: 8
Naps: 2
Hrs of sleep per night: 11-12
Mode of travel: snake crawl
Brothers: 1

Hey Elliot- do you like Tom Chapin? He's one of our favorite singers of kid songs around here. We love that last picture of you- looking feisty and debonair! Love you, your Mast family

Great pictures! I especially liked the one with Elliot and Martin together. Elliot seemed to be trying to look as "big and tough" as dad. Joel has been practicing "man grunts" lately. I'm sure they will be quite a pair when they see each other again!

Elliot, I would love to come eat hush puppies with you. I know for a fact that your daddy can eat 15 at a time. Martin, I love the post-nap pictures. He definatly knows how to play to the camera. Love to the four of you, Carmen

Diech,
thanks for the comment. In these parts we call what you're referring to as catorquing, photorquing.
