Over the river and through the woods, and oh 5 mountains or so, and a mile of mud, to the Harmon WV and the Kanagy cabin we go... for Christmas with the Rhodes siblings, and Jared, and David. We had a great time eating wonderful meals of shrimp (steamed and Alfredo) corn and salad, scrambled eggs with fruit and juice, and Stromboli with soda and chips. We were also treated to a gift bag from Spain, courtesy of Dietrich, which featured such goodies as chocolate, coffee, soccer jersey, toy plane... Keeping up the international theme, Philip generously shared some Ostrich jerky and coffee from South Africa. We also of course played many games: Settlers, rook, draw and describe, throwing baseball, and indoor soccer. Sleeping was bunk bed style, and the lavatory was chilly and required a bit of a walk. On Saturday night, the crowd thinned to the 3 Rhodes brothers, and we enjoyed catching up with each other, listening to music and enjoying friendly competition Settler style. The leisurely drive back over the mountains on Sun. morning afforded ample time for discussions of theology, politics, music and the like. Christmas in a cabin: let's do it again.

Rebekah teaches Elliot how to break eggs with one hand while fixing breakfast Saturday morning.

Martin films the action while Philip and Dietrich engage in a cramped game of one-on-one soccer. I believe Philip emerged victorious.
