Elliot has begun smiling now and cooing. He likes to say "ah-goo" and wave his little arms in the air while "talking" to us - so fun!! He's an alert little guy who likes to take everything in. So much so that once he hit 6 weeks, he decided he was old enough to only sleep about 4 hours during the day. For example, today he was awake at 6 a.m. (much to the delight of his parents!) and only slept about a total of 4 hours until 8:30 p.m. Needless to say, we were quite exhausted, as was the wee one. If anyone has tried and true sleeping advice for 7 week olds, please pass it along! He usually does well at night, but last night he was awake about every 2 1/2 hours. Makes for a tired mom! Hopefully this is a phase he's going through - the minimal sleeping during the day, that is.
Martin has 2 weeks left in school - YEAH! We're all looking forward to when he finishes, and we can take some time to relax with no other responsibilities.

oh my lands sylvia he is such a cutie! good job you guys =) i am so glad that you are having a good time parenting. the first weeks seem a little overwhelming for me but once i got into a routine it was a lot of fun. as far as sleeping i read the book babywise with blake and altho i didnt agree with everything i do think it is important to try to get them on a basic schedule. thanks so much for sharing your page with me. i loved looking at your pictures. you look great. i will be checking back to see more picture of that handsome little man. have a great day. ~heidi
