He's 2 Years Old!

On March the 1st, we celebrated Elliot's 2nd birthday with a lion cake, chips, ice-cream, and presents. He was all excited about his party with all his cousins, grandparents (minus the Rhodes's - we missed you), aunts and uncles coming to celebrate. It was a fun evening, and he has been enjoying the new balls, bats, John Deer dinnerware, bath toys, food/candy, and farm animals that were some of his gifts. Thanks to all for making it a fun evening.

Here's what he's up to these days, now that he's 2:
-Talking up a storm. Is using 3 word sentences.
-All his teeth are in, finally. His last 2 year molar popped through this past week.
-Can count to 11 as long as we repeat each number that he says.
-Recognizes some letters - W, X, T, S, B, O.
-Loves playing with puzzles and is a "puzzle maniac", as Martin calls him. He's really good at putting them together. I bought a foam play mat with the alphabet letters and animals in each square that pop out, and he can put them together by himself.
-Loves music and dances along to it - much to our entertainment! This morning at breakfast he randomly repeated some words he heard on a song that was playing in the background.
-Barely misses a beat to anyone's conversation and will repeat a word here and there, even when the conversation is not directed at him.
-Loves helping wash the dishes, make meals, hang up the wash, and anything else someone happens to be doing.
-Is good at playing with Vincent (although still grabs a toy away on occasion) and likes to play "hide and seek" with him.
-Loves playing outside with balls, tricycle, tractor, fire engine, etc. Yesterday he was zooming down our lane on his tricycle, with his feet up, and I would stop him halfway down our lane. I know this poses a safety risk, but we'll be diligent, and he's been warned to not do that unless one of us is out there with him.
-Points out lots of things he sees out the car window whenever he's in the car.
-Has an incredible memory. Yesterday he found a toy outside that he played with in his frog pool last summer, and asked "where'd frog go?".
-Is an outgoing friendly little guy who LOVES LIFE!! The last couple of mornings we've awaken to him talking to himself or his animals in his crib and laughing at random things. We were quite amused and certainly prefer this to crying!

We love him incredibly much and are proud to be his parents!
